Custom dealership art can make a commercial space feel more memorable, more welcoming and more connected to the brand. For Canyon Creek Toyota in southeast Calgary, the goal was to create a dealership environment that gave customers something unexpected to notice, enjoy and remember.
Canyon Creek Toyota, located in the Canyon Meadows area of Calgary, reached out to The Garage Store with a creative idea already in mind. They were considering standout features for the dealership, including a gas pump-style element for the drive-thru entrance with a giant tire around a globe on top. From there, the conversation grew into a broader custom art and decor project.
The result included 3D drywall artwork, custom furniture, dealership-themed details and Calgary-inspired scenes that helped turn ordinary customer areas into more distinctive spaces.

Customizing a Calgary Car Dealership
Calgary has many automotive dealerships and showrooms, so standing out takes more than clean floors and standard waiting-area furniture. Canyon Creek Toyota wanted a space that felt more custom, more local and more fun for customers visiting the dealership.
After discussing several options, the project moved toward a mix of 3D drywall, custom furniture, automotive-themed display pieces and Calgary skyline details. The goal was not to simply decorate the space. It was to create conversation pieces that made the dealership easier to remember.
3D Drywall Artwork and Alberta-Inspired Scenes
One of the first major features was a 3D drywall piece near the entrance. The artwork included an Alberta wilderness scene with a welcome message above it. Mountains, vehicles, rivers and individual trees were carved and highlighted to give the scene depth and personality.
The first piece worked so well that a second 3D drywall feature was created for the Parts department. A small hidden detail was also added after an offhand joke from the manager: Sasquatch. It became the kind of detail that customers and new staff could look for when they visited the space.

Custom Waiting Area Features
The waiting area needed its own focal points. The Garage Store designed and built a custom coffee table with a racetrack inside, using toys that were purchased second-hand and repurposed for the piece. Small versions of Calgary landmarks were added to make the track feel like a playful miniature version of the city.
The project also included two custom cabinets with glass fronts and shelves. These were designed to look like retro gas pumps, giving the dealership a classic automotive feel while still providing practical display space.

A Toyota Truck-Inspired Bench
One of the most memorable pieces in the space is the custom bench designed and painted to look like the back end of a Toyota truck. It adds a fun dealership-specific detail to the seating area and gives customers another feature to notice while they wait.

Why Custom Decor Matters in a Commercial Space
Custom artwork, furniture and themed decor can help a commercial space feel more intentional. For a dealership, showroom, customer waiting area or automotive business, those details can make the environment feel more welcoming and memorable.
The right custom decor can support:
- A stronger customer experience
- More memorable waiting areas
- Visual connection to the brand
- Photo-worthy spaces and conversation pieces
- A more finished and personalized commercial interior
